Fermented Rice Germ Extract Ameliorates Abnormal Glucose Metabolism via Antioxidant Activity in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Mice

چکیده
Rice germ is an abundant source of ferulic acid, which known for its anti-oxidant activity. This study aimed to evaluate the regulatory effects fermented rice extracts on hepatic glucose metabolism in C57BL/KsJ-db/db mice. was with Lactobacillus plantarum and extracted 30% ethanol (RG_30E) or 50% (RG_50E). Mice were fed modified AIN-93 diets containing acid 8 weeks. RG_50E significantly reduced food intake as well liver weight RG_30E improved homeostasis, indicated by fasting blood levels tolerance. Hepatic triglyceride total cholesterol decreased db/db mice RG_50E. The antioxidant capacity confirmed a decrease malondialdehyde increase superoxide dismutase expression genes related glycolysis gluconeogenesis regulated These results suggest that have potential regulate hypoglycemia type 2 diabetes

Evaluation of Fasting Blood Sugar via Salivary Glucose in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
Objective: Diabetes mellitus (DM) as an ongoing metabolic disorder worldwide is a major public health concern. Diagnosis of DM is depended on clinical symptoms and laboratory findings. Fasting blood glucose (FBG) monitoring is currently the most common diagnostic method, which is an invasive and stressful procedure. Most recently, the use of non-invasive, convenient methods like fasting salivar...
متن کاملThe Aqueous Extract of Gynura divaricata (L.) DC. Improves Glucose and Lipid Metabolism and Ameliorates Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a chronic disease characterized by hyperglycemia and dyslipidemia caused by impaired insulin secretion and resistance of the peripheral tissues. A major pathogenesis of T2DM is obesity-associated insulin resistance. Gynura divaricata (L.) DC. (GD) is a natural plant and has been reported to have numerous health-promoting effects on both animals and humans. In ...
متن کاملScreening for Abnormal Blood Glucose and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.
DESCRIPTION Update of the 2008 U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) recommendation on screening for diabetes in asymptomatic adults. METHODS The USPSTF reviewed the evidence on screening for impaired fasting glucose, impaired glucose tolerance, and type 2 diabetes in asymptomatic, nonpregnant adults who are at average or high risk for diabetes and its complications. POPULATION This ...
متن کاملMechanisms for abnormal postprandial glucose metabolism in type 2 diabetes.
To assess mechanisms for postprandial hyperglycemia, we used a triple-isotope technique ([\3-(3)H]glucose and [(14)C]bicarbonate and oral [6,6-dideutero]glucose iv) and indirect calorimetry to compare components of glucose release and pathways for glucose disposal in 26 subjects with type 2 diabetes and 15 age-, weight-, and sex-matched normal volunteers after a standard meal. The results were ...
متن کاملAbnormal renal and hepatic glucose metabolism in type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Release of glucose by liver and kidney are both increased in diabetic animals. Although the overall release of glucose into the circulation is increased in humans with diabetes, excessive release of glucose by either their liver or kidney has not as yet been demonstrated. The present experiments were therefore undertaken to assess the relative contributions of hepatic and renal glucose release ...
